Workshop on faculty development Excellence in Teaching & Learning

On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, Alfred Nobel University hosted a workshop on faculty development Excellence in Teaching & Learning, led by global scholar and innovative educator Dipra Jha. He is a scholarly associate professor in the Carson College of Business and Assistant Director of the School of Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University (WSU) in the United States.

During the workshop, Professor Dipra Jha analyzed pedagogical models such as Bloom's taxonomy and Zone of Proximal Development, participants learned about the peculiarities of intentional pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning with an emphasis on online, hybrid, and virtual classrooms. Professor shared his many years' experience and personal "secrets" of professional skills. The demonstration of modern technology tools for teaching/learning and information on methods based on key concepts from psychology of learning used by American colleagues were of great interest. Professor Dipra Jha provoked a very fruitful discussion, which helped to enhance professional teaching hacks.

How to increase the motivation of students; how to engage them in online classes; the methods of the future in teaching/learning; the key components for effective hybrid learning; the non-verbal means stimulating the interest in learning; the best teaching/learning practices from the point of view of foreign colleagues – all these and many other issues were discussed during the workshop. Effective event organization, professional simultaneous translation, and prompt technical support provided an opportunity for all participants to take an active part in the discussion.
