Welcome to the study programme Law (Bachelor’s degree), language of training is Ukrainian.

Nowadays no enterprise, organization or institution can dispense with the services of a lawyer. Even ordinary people need a lawyer’s help. A company, operating in any economic sector, cannot achieve success, let alone increase its competitive advantage and protect itself, without legal support in both domestic and international markets.

The mission of the study programme Law (Bachelor’s degree) is to train well-qualified socially responsible lawyers, who possess a universal basic professional knowledge and skills corresponding to the demands of the contemporary labour market, in order to ensure competitiveness of domestic enterprises and Ukraine’s economy as a whole.

We incorporate European approaches and quality standards of higher education. It is the first and the only Bachelor’s programme in Law in Ukraine which is accredited at the international level by ZEvA agency, Hannover (Germany). ZEvA’s experts have recognized its compliance with European standards and the Bologna requirements.

Results of mastery of the study programme: acquisition of basic knowledge and skills in fundamental and professionally oriented courses required for competence of Bachelors in Law.

Professional knowledge and skills obtained as a result of completing the programme:

  • familiarization with judicial and law enforcement bodies which protect people’s rights, freedoms and interests;
  • familiarization with legal procedures employed for ensuring law and order; familiarization with distinctions of legal relationships in various areas of law; familiarization with the remedies for protection of personal legal status;
  • skills in making proper legal evaluation of specific situations;
  • skills in identifying cases of violation of the law and order, as well as the skills of remedying such violations.

Programme requirements (ECTS credits).

In accordance with the Standard on Higher Education set for the programme Law (Bachelor’s degree), 240 ECTS credits are awarded in total. The curriculum of the programme “Bachelor in Law” incorporates: mandatory courses (164 ECTS credits), elective courses (56.5 ECTS credits). Course paper – 3 ECTS credits, practical training – 13.5 ECTS credits. State Examination in Civil Law (1.5 ECTS credits), State Examination in Economic Law (1.5 ECTS credits)

  • the ratio of credits between parts of the programme may vary slightly from year to year.

Educational goals of the programme.

General goal of the study programme Law (Bachelor’s degree) is developing the ability to solve complex specialized tasks in the field of law with understanding the nature and content of its major legal institutions as well boundaries of legal regulation of various social relations.

The programme’s objectives are designed to:

  • ensure training of bachelors in law, taking into account the requirements of labour market concerning competence formation and increase of quality by means of innovations in education;
  • provide basic knowledge of fundamental and applied educational subjects necessary for competence of bachelor in law;
  • educate well-qualified specialists for organizations and enterprises, who can analyze and apply the law in particular professional situations;
  • develop the ability to apply knowledge and skills acquired to both theoretical and applied problems in law;
  • develop students’ powers of analysis and opinions;
  • develop graduates as social individuals who are ready to solve certain problems and tasks of communicative and social activity.
  • provide students with the knowledge and skills base, from which they can proceed to further studies in law;
  • develop in students, through their studies, a range of generic skills that will be of value in employment and self-employment as well as in their future careers in the private or public sector.
